SUP TOUR — WADA & TAKAHAMA

SUP Tour — Wada & Takahama

Wada Beach was among the first beaches in Asia to receive the international Blue Flag certification. Clear, resort-like shoreline including Torihama and Shiroyama Park.

About this course

This area centres on Wada Beach in Takahama. Unlike the sea caves of the Obama area, here you find open, shallow shoreline and clear, resort-like water. Wada Beach was among the first beaches in Asia to receive the international Blue Flag certification, in 2016 — an assessment that covers not only water quality but also efforts to protect the environment and ensure safety. Mount Aoba, known locally as "Wakasa Fuji", rises behind the bay.

ON THE DAY

On the Day

Tours take approximately two hours.

  1. 30 min before

    Check-in

Please arrive at the meeting point. You change on site. Not every beach has a changing room, so we recommend wearing your swimwear under your clothes.

    Lesson

We start on land with the basics.

  3. Into the water

You get used to the board in the shallows first.

  4. Clear, shallow water

We paddle slowly along the open shore and through shallows where you can see the bottom.

  5. After about 2 hours

    Finish

Showers are available at some beaches. Please see the area guide for which beaches have facilities.

What to bring

Please bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, towel, hat, sunscreen, and drinks. We recommend marine shoes or sneakers that can get wet. If you wear glasses or sunglasses, bring a strap to keep them from falling in the water.

★ Changing is done on site. Facilities differ by beach, so arriving already in your swimsuit is the safest option.

★ You can often see fish beneath the surface — bringing goggles or a snorkel makes the day more enjoyable. (We do not rent these.)
